This election adopts a mixed electoral system. Among them, 54 members of Parliament are elected according to the proportional representation system of political parties, and political parties need at least 5% of the votes to obtain parliamentary seats; 36 members of Parliament are elected in a single authorized constituency, and the candidate with the most votes wins the seat.
According to the data of the Central Election Commission, 21 political parties registered to participate in the parliamentary election, and 287 candidates were registered in a single authorized constituency.
More than 730 observers from the CIS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the organization for security and cooperation in Europe and other international organizations participated in supervising the parliamentary elections.
Kyrgyzstan held a constitutional referendum on April 11 this year, and the new constitution came into force on May 5. According to the new constitution, Kyrgyzstan's state system of government has changed from parliamentary system to presidential system. Meanwhile, the number of members of the Kyrgyz parliament was reduced from 120 to 90. The Kyrgyz parliament is a unicameral system with a term of five years.
