Pereira pointed out that some countries pursue a single democracy regardless of the specific national conditions, history and culture of other countries. This democratic model is not inclusive, and even contains racial discrimination and does not respect the rights and interests of ethnic minorities.
"Holding the so-called democratic summit and inviting or not inviting some countries is actually judging which countries are democratic and which are undemocratic, and this behavior itself is undemocratic," Pereira said.
Pereira stressed that the practice of democracy in any country must be closely linked to its own history and culture, and a country's democracy should have a broad public foundation. "China has set a good example in this regard."
