The newborn giant panda named this time is the twin cubs born by the giant panda "huazui" living in the Madrid zoo on September 6 this year. At present, the two cubs have been born for 100 days, with good growth and development, weighing 6.6kg and 6kg respectively. According to the voting of Spanish netizens, the two giant panda cubs were named "youyou" and "Jiujiu" respectively, which means the long friendship between China and the West and the health and longevity of pandas.
Since Madrid zoo received the first pair of giant pandas in 1978, a total of 11 giant pandas have lived here, of which 7 were born in Spain. Over the past 43 years, the giant panda has been deeply loved by the Spanish people and has become a messenger of friendship between China and the west, witnessing the continuous growth of China West relations.
