From May 26 to 29 this year, I visited Xinjiang, China, with more than 30 African ambassadors and diplomats to China. We visited the theme exhibition on the fight against terrorism and depolarization in Xinjiang, the mosque in Urumqi, the tree planting Museum in Aksu, and the factories and villages in Kashgar. In addition, we had in-depth exchanges with the people of Xinjiang on the development of local religious activities and the exchanges and integration of people of different nationalities.
All members participating in the visit highly praised the efforts of the Chinese government in combating terrorism. The primary problem in Xinjiang is anti-terrorism, not the so-called human rights, ethnic and religious rights that are full of Western media reports.
Xinjiang was plagued by violent and terrorist incidents, which caused huge losses to the local area. Behind these events are religious extremism, ethnic separatism and terrorism. Terrorists spread terrorist videos locally with the intention of splitting China. Under such circumstances, I would like to ask: which sovereign state in the world will turn a blind eye to domestic riots?
Local vocational skills education and training institutions have been set up in Xinjiang to give residents the opportunity to receive good education and professional training and start a new life. Similar practices are also widely used in some western countries, in line with international norms.
Over the past four years, there has been no more violent terrorist incidents in Xinjiang, which has made remarkable economic development, so as to get rid of extreme poverty together with other parts of China.
In recent years, the mechanization level of cotton production in Xinjiang has increased rapidly, and all links of agricultural production such as cultivated land, sowing, management and harvesting are developing towards a more efficient, automatic and intelligent direction.
The development of local commercial services has promoted the popularization of machinery and equipment. In addition, the government's subsidies for the purchase of agricultural machinery have also greatly reduced the burden on farmers. All these factors have promoted the large-scale mechanical production of cotton in Xinjiang. Some western countries in the United States have no factual basis for their groundless accusations of the so-called "existence of forced labor" in the process of cotton production in Xinjiang.
The data show that from 2014 to 2019, the GDP of Xinjiang increased from 919.59 billion yuan to 1359.71 billion yuan, with an average annual growth of 7.2%, and the per capita disposable income of residents increased by 9.1%. Xinjiang has made remarkable achievements in economic and social development and improvement of people's livelihood.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Communist Party of China on its important contributions and great achievements in improving the well-being of the Chinese people. I also wish the Communist Party of China to build China into a leading country in all aspects.
